UNP Together with a Consortium of Universities in West Sumatra Won PDP 2024 Funds for Nutrysmart Innovation in Overcoming Nutrition Problems

Padang - A team from Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) successfully won the 2024 Funding Program (PDP) of the Directorate General of Vocational Education (Diksi) of the Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology (Kemdikbud Ristek) with the theme “Nutrysmart” Smart System for Nutrition and Family Services in the Prevention and Management of Nutrition Problems in West Sumatra.

Team Leader Dr. Yuliana, S.P, M.Si revealed that not only UNP, the team proposing this program is a consortium of universities in West Sumatra, namely, UNP, Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU), Andalas University (Unand) and Poltekkes Kemenkes Padang and in collaboration with the Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).

“Nutrysmart is a technology-based innovation designed to help families in West Sumatra in helping family nutrition services and helping prevent nutritional problems. This system develops web-based applications and applications so that it can prevent nutritional problems and reduce stunting rates in West Sumatra, “he said when giving a speech at the Nutrysmart Training of Trainers (TOT) event held at UNP Hotel & Convention, Monday (29/7/2024).

In addition, according to him, the program initiated by team members consisting of Dr. dr. Linda Rosalina, M.Biomed (UNP), Prof. Dra. Asmar Yulastri, M.Pd, Ph.D (UNP), Winda Agustiarmi, S.Pd, M.Pd.T (UNP), Nur Ahmad Habibi, S.Gz, M.P (Poltekkes Kemenkes Padang), Dr. Dr. Zasmeli Suhaemi, MP (UNP), Nur Ahmad Habibi, S.Gz, M.P (Poltekkes Kemenkes Padang). Zasmeli Suhaemi, MP (UNU), Dr. Resmi Darni, M.Kom (UNP), Dr. Helmizar, SKM, M.Biomed (Unand), Randi Proska Sandra, S.Pd, M.Sc (UNP) and Sayendra Safaria, M.Kom (UNU) are expected to be able to help BKKBN reach hard-to-reach areas in overcoming nutrition problems.

The same thing was also conveyed by the UNP Matching Fund Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Rahadian Z, S.Pd, M.Si. According to him, this activity is very extraordinary in encouraging downstreaming and implementation in the wider community. “This funding is a very competitive funding if we succeed in getting it then it must be implemented and produce something that has an impact on the wider community,” he explained when opening the event.

Furthermore, the creation of this application was also welcomed by the BKKBN Representative of West Sumatra. Head of BKKBN Representative of West Sumatra Fatmawati, ST, M.En. felt very grateful to get Matching Fund financing with UNP along with a number of universities in West Sumatra. In addition, she really hopes that the application and website initiated by the team from UNP, UNU, Unand and Poltekkes Kemenkes will be able to reduce the stunting rate in West Sumatra which is at the threshold of 23.3 percent.
