5 Special Education Master Program Students from FIP UNP Present Paper at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
Selangor (29/07/2024)- The Master of Special Education Study Program of the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang (Prodi Magister PKh FIP UNP) visited Magister Khas Fakulti Pendidikan - Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on Monday, July 29, 2024. During the visit, the study program conducted research dissemination and discussed cooperation plans.
The UKM Faculty of Education welcomed the visit of the PKh Master Program of FIP UNP in an event entitled Sesi Perkongsian Antarabangsa Pendidikan Khas. The event took place at Dewan Budiman, UKM Faculty of Education.
This International Mobility activity was attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia such as Prof. Madya Dr. Hasnah Toran as Pengerus PPDK, Dr. Khairul Farhah as Program Advisor, Dr. Syar Meeze Bin Mohd Rashid as Head of International Cooperation in this case representing the Dean of the Faculty of Education, and En. Mohd Syazwan Zainal as the Chief Judge for the Presentation Session as well as UKM Special Education lecturers.
In his remarks, Dr. Syar Meeze Bin Mohd Rashid said that he agreed to improve the quality of special education in two countries (Indonesia and Malaysia), improve the quality of inclusive education and further discuss the cooperation program between Master of Special Education FIP UNP and Master of Special Education UKM.
The research dissemination presented 5 papers from students of the Master of PKh FIP UNP, namely Risca Amani, Widi Kumara Jagaparamuditha, Rizka Fadhillah Efendi, Sentia Andani Putri, and Putri Lagenda Wulandari. Risca Amani, from the PKh Master Program of FIP UNP, was chosen as the 3rd best presenter with the paper title "Development of Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) Based on Augmented Reality (AR) for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders". In addition to student research, Dr. Rahmahtrisilvia, M.Pd (Coordinator of the Master of Special Education Study Program) representing lecturers of the PKh Master Study Program FIP UNP discussed curriculum for Autism Spectrum Disorders (GSA).
This International Mobility activity was also attended by the Head of the Department of Special Education (PLB), Dr. Elsa Efrina, M.Pd., 4 lecturers, 14 master's level students and 2 undergraduate students.
This activity was closed with a discussion about the collaboration plan between the Special Education Master Program of FIP UNP and the Special Education Master Program of UKM. Both parties agreed to collaborate in the development of special education.
