To Strengthen Academic Service Quality, UNP Rector Reviews Sijunjung and Bukittinggi Campuses

Padang - In an effort to maintain excellent service as a guarantee of producing quality graduates, Rector of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) Krismadinata, Ph.D held a meeting with the management of lecturers and education personnel in the Department of Agroindustry PSDKU (Study Program Outside the Main Campus) in Sijunjung, Department of Medical Sciences and Department of Psychology at Bukittinggi Campus, Tuesday (16/7/2024).

At the meeting, Rector Kris revealed that the quality of excellent service to students by universities today is an absolute demand that must be met, both academic and administrative services.  

“Excellent service is one of the guarantees to produce quality graduates. Since the last ten years, we at UNP ( Universitas Negeri Padang ) have been very serious in improving academic services to these students,” he said.

“We continue to remind study program managers, especially lecturers and education staff to maximize academic and administrative services to students. In general, UNP already has sufficient regulations, adequate infrastructure and adequate human resources to provide the best service. We just need to improve the culture of serving others well and professionally, as well as digital-based services that we are still improving the quality and quantity, “said Rector Kris again.

During his working visit to the Agribusiness Department at the Sijunjung campus, Rector Krismadinata also handed over 4 units of tractors for field practice to students. The Rector along with Senior Executive Prof. Ganefri, Ph.D and his entourage also reviewed the construction of a new three-story building, which is a building for labor, classes, and other academic and administrative support needs. The building with a cost of approximately 35 billion is expected to be utilized in 2025.

At the Faculty of Medicine, Rector Kris, Senior Executive, reviewed the available learning infrastructure and checked the construction of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine campus, which is still adjacent to the Faculty of Medicine in Behind Balok Bukit Tinggi. In addition to the Faculty of Medicine which has been running for one year and is among the most popular with prospective students, UNP is now also carrying out the construction of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine campus.

Build PTPG Monument and Hand over FRPTNI assistance

In a series of visits to the two campuses, Rector Krismadinata also reaffirmed the plan to build a PTPG monument in the Bukit Gombak area in Batu Sangkar. The Teacher Education College or PTPG in Batu Sangkar which was founded in 1955 was the forerunner of the birth of IKIP Padang and became Padang State University as we know it today. The solidification of the plan to establish a monument that has been planned for a long time, yesterday (Tuesday 16/7/2024), was carried out in the format of a dialogue with a number of Tanah Datar Regency Government officials at the location of the PTPG monument establishment plan. It was agreed that the UNP would again follow up by making a monument master plan whose design was integrated with supporting tourism facilities.  

Still in a series of visits on the same day, Rector Krismadinata also handed over assistance for three new elementary school class units in Nagari Salimpaung Tanah Datar. The assistance worth 1.3 billion rupiah came from donations from the Rectors of State Universities throughout Indonesia who are members of FRPTNI (Forum of Rectors of Indonesian State Universities). The 1.3 billion aid that was previously collected by UNP Senior Executive Prof. Ganefri is a form of concern for the Rectors of State Universities for the world of education in the country, especially for people who really need it. The assistance was received by the Head of Education of Tanah Datar in Batusangkar, after the handover of assistance, the UNP Rector's entourage along with a number of Tanah Datar Education Office officials immediately saw the school which was very worthy of the assistance and at the same time conducted a review to a new location that was wider and more appropriate (HP).

On that occasion with Rector Krismadinata also attended Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. Ir. Remon Lapisa, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Dean of FMIPA, Dean of FK, Director of General and Finance, Deputy Dean of FMIPA, Deputy Dean of FIS, Head of TU FMIPA and a number of other officials in FK and FMIPA.
