Young Diplomats Give Public Lecture in UNP Auditorium: People Have a Role in Countering terrorism

Padang - Niwa Rahmat Dwitama, MA is an Indonesia's young diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia attendees to give a public lecture to a thousand UNP students with the theme " People Have a Role in Countering terrorism " Deradicalization and Diplomacy in Indonesia”  in Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) on Friday (23/8/2019).



On this occasion, Niwa explained that in an era, terrorism comes through cyber-terrorism so the world implements two soft approach education through counter-terrorism by BNPT and hard approach through law enforcement institutions. He also said that the in cyberspace, the terrorism categorized as a transnational crime, but I’m specifically there is no single international legal instrument. meanwhile, alumni of International relation of the University of Indonesia, Niwa added that now we must participate to countering the threat of terrorism. The community is a key factor in facing the terrorist’s danger. On the other hand, the higher education needs to develop the values of peace and tolerance among the students.Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri, Ph.D invites they must have a global mastery like knowledge of the dangers of radical teaching and the students in using social media.
