The Regent of Gorontalo, Prof. Nelson Pomalingo who was a former Rector of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, wanted to find and understand the development of the Institute of Teacher Training (LPTK) in the future so that for this reason, Nelson (56) was attended the International Conference on the International Conference on Innovation in Education (ICoIE) which was held by the forum of Indonesian Postgraduate Leadership of LPTK 2018 which took place on Thursday (6/9) at the UNP Auditorium.

"I am sure that if the implementation of work is clear and meaningful on increasing innovation in education and on improving the existing research, then the challenges of the digital era of industrial revolution 4.0 can be anticipated by LPTK colleges," Nelson said.

Answering reporters' questions about his current position as Gorontalo Regent who is also the Head of Indonesian Farmers' Association, Nelson was said that because he was trusted as the chairman of the national presidium for the establishment of Gorontalo Province at the time of the formation of Gorontalo Province. Then after Gorontalo became a Province, he was entrusted as the Head of the provincial Bappeda.

He also active in KNPI, AMPI, MKGR and ICMI organizations where at the PGRI of Gorontalo he was asked as general chairman.

"Because of being active in organizing, after being the Regent, I was already happy to serve the others," Nelson said.

Nowadays, Nelson who also took part in hitting the drum as a sign of the start of IcoIE focuses on the efforts to increase agricultural production and improve the economy of farmers.
