Padang—Universitas Negeri Padang cooperates with the University College of Yayasan Pahang to hold the 5th International conference on Islam and Higher Education 2019 at Auditorium UNP on Tuesday (February 2019). The purpose of this conference is to anticipation the negative effect from pornography, hoax, radicalism, and anti-diversity.

The main theme of the 5th international conference on Islam and higher education (ICHIE) is Humanizing the Industrial Revolution 4.0 Through the Islamic Approach in Higher Education System, which takes place over two days (February 19-20) at UNP. The participants of the international conferences come from various foreign/domestic universities.

In addition, The Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri extends a very special welcome to all the participants of the 5th international conference on Islam and Higher Education. Moreover, The Vice Chancellor of University College of Yayasan Pahang (UCYP), YH Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Bin Hj Zainuddin said that “The 5th International Conference on Islam and Higher Education 2019 is significant for the future generation of Islam in higher education.” Meanwhile, Dr. Azhar bin Jaafar as the Deputy Vice Chancellor reports that the attendee is reaching hundreds of people who come from Indonesia and Malaysia. The participants of the 5th international conferences also attended by islamic scholars, professors, rectors, deans and lecturers from Islamic universities from Southeast Asia.

Dr. Azhar bin Jaafar said that he expects that the result of the 5th ICHIE can find a new direction of universities and the Islamic institution through all parties can revitalize the role of universities and Islamic education in order to respond to the internal and external challenges. Moreover, the 5th international conferences, all Islamic Universities in Asian Continent can competence to formulate the important steps to increase the cooperation between Islamic colleges and Asian Universities.

The Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri said that 100 papers will be discussed in the 5th ICHIE 2019 theirs comes from the delegates Raden Intan Lampung, Universitas Al- Azhar, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, Universitas Islam Kediri, STAI Muhammadiyah, UIN Sunan Giri, STAI Negeri Sorong, IAIN Batusangkar and Fatoni University from Thailand.

Furthermore, the international conference will carry a wide range of sub-themes which are divided into five sessions and for the last session some speakers will sit together in a parallel discussion session. (Public Relation of UNP)
