Regent of Sijunjung district, Yuswir Arifin encouraged teachers of early childhood education (PAUD) in the Sijunjung District area to improve their competencies in order to be able to produced students with better development.
"I want the future generation of Sijunjung to be a smart generation so that for this reason, basic services for early childhood education must have full support from the Sijunjung’s Government. The responsibility of PAUD teachers is not only teaching but also on shaping the character of children from an early age," Yuswir Arifin said when giving a speech on the training program of 120 Teachers of PAUD on Sijunjung District which was held on the Senate Meeting Room of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), on Monday, November 19.
The educational training of PAUD’s Teacher of Sijunjung district in collaboration with the Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M) of UNP is aimed to improve the quality of education and competency of PAUD’s teachers on Sijunjung District. The event was followed by two batch that consisted of 60 people on each of group. For the first batch, the training was held for 5 days (from November 19 to 21).
Furthermore, the Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri appreciated the Government of Sijunjung Regency who has high commitment to the development of improving the quality of education and education personnel in that area.
"PAUD’s teachers need to be grateful for this commitment," Prof. Ganefri explained when opening the Educational Training Program for Sijunjung’s teachers.
Meanwhile, the Head of LP3M of UNP, Dr. Edwin Musdi reported that in this educational training, as many as 120 PAUD’s teachers were targeted to be able to absorb the material presented then applied it to students so that a positive impact could have on the fellow teachers and the schools.
After the opening ceremony of the PAUD’s Teacher Training, the Head of the Regional Education and Culture Office of Sijunjung, Ramler, M.M., signed a MoU with the Head of LP3M of UNP, Dr. Edwin Musdi witnessed and known by the Rector of UNP (Prof. Ganefri), Vice-Rector IV (Prof. Syahrial Bakhtiar), and the Regent of Sijunjung District (Yuswir Arifin).
