A total of 185 papers will be presented on the International Conference on Languages and Arts at the Hospitality Building of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) on Friday (October 19). The Chief Executive of the event, Prof. Yeni Rozimela, Ph.D., said that the 185 papers will be presented where coming from the Language and Arts forum (25 papers), from the Faculty of Languages and Arts of UNP (77 papers), from other faculties on UNP (30 papers), from overseas namely Chinese (1 paper), and from domestic (52 papers).
"Hopefully the 185 speakers are ready to present their papers," Yeni Rozimela said. Furthermore, she also explained that the holding of an international conference entitled International Conference on Languages and Arts (ICLA-7) was also in order to celebrate the 64th Anniversary of UNP.
"Through this conference, researchers and practitioners in the field of languages and arts can exchange ideas to find innovative strategies to answer the challenges of languages and arts education in the future," Yeni said. Yeni also explained that the rapid development of science and technology that has an impact on the teaching and learning process was the one of backgrounds of this conference.
Besides of that, Yeni said that the theme which carried out at the 7th ICLA was "Breakthrough to Excellence of Languages and Arts Research and Education” with the keynote speakers from abroad namely Prof. Low Ee Ling (Singapore), Dr., Anna Philippi (Australia), MS Hema Rajagopalan (America), and Prof. Rettberg Wolfgang (Germany) and form local namely Prof. Dr. Harris Effendi Tahar, Indrayuda (UNP).
