Padang—Three students of Universitas Negeri Padang successfully published a book based on the Augmented Reality (AR) Technology. The appearance of interactive 3D (Three-dimensional) objects using AR-based technology to bring up objects in the book into 3d objects and animation (virtual Geometry) application. The AR-Geometry interactive book also contains the material and worksheet of students in chemistry lesion (flat side geometry). AR technology book as the creativity of three students from Department of Mathematics Universitas Negeri Padang Afifah Zafirah, Refenia Usman, and Fardatil Aini Agusti. They are encouraged by the exact research student's creativity program (PKM) by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Republic of Indonesia (kemenristek Dikti RI).
Furthermore, Afifah Zafirah said that the first launching book takes place AT FMIPA UNP, Prof. Hamka Street, Air Tawar, Padang some time ago. The effectiveness of AR-Geometry Interactive book can be beneficial to improve the ability of mathematical reasoning for the students.
“Alhamdulilah, for this year, PKM-PE teams successfully passed the proposal selection and funded by Kemenristekdikti. We hope that we can show better performance for the external monev on July 5-6, 2019 and prepare to PINMNAS on Augustus at Universitas Udayana Bali. Furthermore, we can make our parents and alma mater of UNP proof of our mission,” said Afifah Zafirah.
Meanwhile, Refenia Usman also explained that fields of PKM of exact research as one of the annual programs which organized by Kemenristekdikti RI. Ar-Geometry Interactive Book was a book produced by PKM-PE Research. The book became one of the outcomes of the implementation of PKM-PE. The best team will be entitled to the National Scientific Week (PIMNAS) in Bali with competing the Student Creativity Program (PKM) to showcase the result of research.
“The collaboration between instructional Media and AR technology as one of the efforts of creativity and innovative for students. Based on the research result, AR-Geometry interactive book is able to make a process of learning more interactive and improve the ability of mathematical reasoning students around 34% from the previous,” said Refenia Usman.
Meanwhile, Fardatil Aini Augusti explained that the output of the PKM-PE was not only an AR-Geometry Interactive book, but also the PKM-PE team will attend the International Conference Science and Technology at Universitas Bengkulu on July 6-7 2019. The team will present a scientific work with entitled The Effectively of AR-Geometry Interactive Book in Increasing Students' Mathematical Reasoning Skill. The output of the PKM-PE also succeeded in having Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) as evidenced by IPR certificates, as well as Scientific Articles and will be published in Accredited Journals.
