After successfully holding the graduation ceremony on two days before, Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) presented the Regent of Kerinci Regency to give a speech in front of 969 graduates on the third day. (Monday, September 17, 2018)
The Regent of Kerinci Regency, Dr. H. Adirozal, M.Si., who is also alumni of UNP, on his speech, described about the education of the Kerinci which was right now lack of resources on teachers and teaching staff around of 1200 people in the elementary and junior high school level. Adirozal then invited the graduates of UNP to contribute to helping education in Kerinci because he praised to the quality of UNP graduates who were successful in their fields, namely not only in education, but also as structural officials and so on. He further stated that his hopes for the MoU that had been established between Kerinci Regency and UNP could be renewed and that the guidance made by UNP towards Kerinci could increase in the future.
On this occasion, in addition to speeches from the Regent of Kerinci Regency, the Rector of UNP also mentioned about the achievements of UNP in local and abroad, the innovations, and the developments that were made by UNP, such as the development of various laboratories, innovation in educational methods, and so on.
Furthermore, the Rector congratulated to all of the graduates especially for the five graduates with the highest GPA of 3.91 who got the titled of "Cumlaude (with praise)" in the third day of graduation ceremony can achieve success in this life and in the future. He hoped that the graduates can grow their sensitivity in the community and can practice the value of Pancasila in this life.
The Graduation Ceremony was attended by the Governor of West Sumatra Province or the representation, the Regent of Kerinci Regency, the chairman of DPRD of West Sumatra Provincial, Danrem, Kapolda, Kajati of West Sumatra along with Forkopimda of West Sumatra, the head and secretaries of senate of UNP, deans, heads of institutions, leaders and members of the UNP’s consideration council, UNP’s partners, and many more.
