High School Laboratory of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) holds Futsal Competition among the high schools throughout Padang City. A total of 16 high school teams were took part in the competition entitled "2nd Lab Competition" which will take place from August, 31 to September 2, 2018 at the Sport Center of the Faculty of Sport Sciences Universitas Negeri Padang.
The event was opened by staff representative of Vice-Rector III of UNP, Yulifri, M.Pd., and attended by hundreds of students, teacher assemblies of Laboratory High School of Pembangunan, and the Dean of Faculty of Sports Sciences, Dr. Zalpendi.
Yulifri in his welcoming speech was said that this match is an innovative activity that can strengthens the friendship among of the participants.
"This is an activity that we feel is very innovative which can strengthen the intimacy between the high school students throughout Padang. It is proven by the crowd which was extraordinary. Each team brings their supporters who are not few in number. They are even brought some marching band team," Yulifri said.
Yulifri hopes that the enthusiasm in the field of sports among students in Padang is growing, especially with the momentum of ASEAN Games nowadays. "By holding this 2nd futsal competition, we hope that the sportsmanship of students in Padang can always be maintained and the students can be further developed to become national athletes," Yulifri said.
The 2nd futsal competition was followed by 16 teams from Padang which are consisted of Adabiah High School, Baiturahma High School, the High School of 2, 3, 7 and 8, MAN of 2 and 3, the High School of PGRI 1, and Pertiwi High School.
"In addition to being attended by public high school, private high schools in Padang were also attended this event. This event is expected to finish on Sunday (September, 2)," the vice-principal of Pembangunan High School said on his report.
Meanwhile, Director of the Pembangunan High School of UNP, Dr. Nurhasansyah, said that the futsal competition was the second of a whole series of events to enliven the extracurricular activities at school in the Pembangunan High School of UNP.
