After being equipped with knowledge about corporate entrepreneur and strategy, a number of 1073 graduates were finally inaugurated by the Rector of Universitas Negeri Padang, Prof. Ganefri Ph.D., at the Auditorium of UNP on Saturday (September 15, 2018). The event which was held on every two times in one semester was opened with a beautiful poem from the Rector.
In his speech, Prof. Ganefri Ph.D., explained that Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) is currently going up to the global university in accordance with the vision and mission of UNP, namely to become one of the leading universities in the Southeast Asia region in the fields of education, science, technology, sports, and arts, where in 2020, Ganefri said that he want to implement various development strategies that are appropriate to achieve this goal.
Furthermore, in line with the increasing of competitive business and industry climate, UNP also participated actively in reforming the education curriculum which was aligned with the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0.
The flow of globalization in Indonesia is unstoppable. Entering the industrial revolution era 4.0 which is based on the pattern of digital economy, artificial intelligence, big data, robotic or known as the disruptive innovation phenomenon, it is important then for graduates to be equipped enough with useful knowledge in dealing with the world of work later.
The Rector hopes that graduates can foster sensitivity, implement the Pancasila’s value, and adapt to the challenges of times by utilizing technology and technology optimization to develop quality, enhance science and technology, communication skills, indexed journal, and others. The graduates are expected to be able to continue to improve themselves and prepare themselves.
Counting from 1073 graduates were inaugurated on Saturday (September 15, 2018), a total of 14 graduates received the title "Cumlaude (With Praise)" with the highest GPA of 3.95.
The Graduation Ceremony was attended by the Governor of West Sumatra Province, the Rector of Universitas Indonesia who participated in sharing various strategies in the face of the challenges of the 4.0 industrial revolution era, the chairman of DPRD of West Sumatra Provincial, Danrem, Kapolda, Kajati of West Sumatra along with Forkopimda of West Sumatra, the Regent of Padang Pariaman who was also the chairperson of UNP’s ILUNI for period 2018-2022, the head of senate of UNP, deans, heads of institutions, leaders and members of the UNP’s consideration council, UNP’s partners, and many more.
