Padang—Universitas Negeri Padang received the construction building of an indoor and outdoor tennis court from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) 2014. UNP has gained trust to become a host of Alumni Inter-University Tennis Tournament in Indonesia on July 26-29, 2019.

In 2018, Tennis Court of Universitas Negeri Padang witness of the victory of Rector’s and Regional police II Championship Cup. Universitas Negeri Padang has recorded of a new history by hosting a venue to foster togetherness and collaboration between 16 Universities alumni association (IKA) PT with 350 players going to Minang. Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri, Ph.D has gathered around 80 committees to success the tennis tournament in the 4th Senate meeting room at rectorate building Universitas Negeri Padang.

Prof. Ganefri accompanied by the intermediate substitute of Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science, Dr. Alnedral, Head of Alumni Tennis Tournament, Apri Agus, also attended by the Vice Rector I, Prof. Yunia Wardi, and Head of ILUNI UNP, Ali Mukni who also accompanied by the Secretary of ILUNI UNP, Yukon Putra to discuss the readiness of Universitas Negeri Padang as the host of tennis tournament.

The committee of tennis tournament will provide the list of hotels, consumption, pick-up and delivery of participants from the Minangkabau International Airport (BIM). All the requirements of tennis tournament become the responsible for the committee as well as information on schedule of arrival and return. Furthermore, Universitas Negeri Padang also facilitates the city tour of West Sumatra in two alternative places Bukittinggi and Mande, South Pesisir Island.

Furthemore, Dr. Alnedral said that the technical requirements of the participants as the person in charge of this tournament is a Diploma, S1, S2 and S3 graduate proven by a diploma, copy/scan of KTP and diploma submit on next July 8, 2019. He also explained, the participants of each PTN must be at least ten people and maximums twenty students. Furthermore, the list of players and ages must be signed by the official and stamp from each university or alumni administrator. The tournament participants are tertiary institutions that have been registered and have confirmed their participation of organizing a committee by showing evidence according to specific terms/regulations.

The participants of the Alumni Inter-University Tennis Tournament come from Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM), Universitas Indonesia (UI), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Institute Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Universitas Negeri Padjajaran (UNPAD), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and UNP as the host of this event.

Alumni Inter-University Tennis Tournament as a forum for the meeting of the alumni of universities between all universities in Indonesia. This event also as a medium for the participants to meet and discuss inter-universities, especially to contribute to the progress of Indonesia. (Public Relations of UNP).
