Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) continues to strive for various efforts in order to become a global university including actively collaborating with universities from various countries.
From Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on Tuesday (October 16), the Vice-Rector IV, Prof. Dr. Syahrial Bakhtiar who represented the Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri, followed the Australia-Indonesia Higher Education Forum which was attended by the leaders of Universities in both countries in order to discuss the challenges of higher education providers, research, and also to explore the opportunities for collaboration between the universities.
"I am in Australia in the context of Australia-Indonesia Higher Education Forum on Research and Technology to discuss the challenges of the world of higher education and also to explore the opportunities for collaboration with Swinburne University Technology," Prof. Syahrial Bakhtiar said.
Prof. Syahrial Bakhtiar will explore UNP's collaboration with some universities in Australia especially in the way of sharing experiences in the field of research, publications, and joint programs / curriculum for learning.
The forum took the theme entitled "Indonesia Australia Forum on Higher Education, Research and Techology: Transforming Today Challenge Toward Exceptional Opportunities in Melbourne-Victoria, Australia”. The event was held from Tuesday (October 16) to Thursday (October 18).
The forum was initiated on the collaboration of Indonesia's Academics and Researchers Network in Australia (IARNA), Australia-Indonesia Centre (AIC), and the Consulate General of Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Melbourne.
To realize the mission of UNP as one of the leading universities in the Southeast Asia region, the Rector of UNP, Prof. Ganefri is incessantly working indeed with foreign universities. The goal is none other than to prepare human capital of the academic community of UNP.
Prof. Syahrial Bakhiar departed for Australia on Monday (October 15) after the opening ceremony of the 64th Anniversary of UNP which was joined by the Opening of the MTQ Competition on University Level. (Public Relations of UNP/Translated by Shilva Lioni)
